June 28: New York, NY/Paris, France/Oslo, Norway
Thur. Today is departure day! You will arrive at John F Kennedy Airport, NY,
where you will board a wide-bodied jet Air France flight #070 (SAS) for your
overnight flight to Paris, France. Complimentary meals and beverages will be
served in flight.
June 29: Paris, France/Oslo/Rauland, Norway
Fri. Depart Paris on flight #796 and travel to Oslo, Norway. After
arrival, you will view the telemark before transferring to your hotel in Rauland.
After dinner, the evening is free.
June 30: Rauland/Voss, Norway REHEARSAL
Sat. Depart Rauland this morning traveling to Voss, Norway. Upon arrival, check
into your hotel. After dinner, an evening shopping excursion is followed by
a rehearsal.
July 1: Stalheim/Voss CONCERT: Stalheim, Voss
Sun. Today you will travel to Stalheim to perform a concert at the famous Stalheim
Hotel which overlooks the Naero Valley. The hotel will provide a buffet lunch.
After returning to Voss, you will participate in the unveiling of a sculpture
"The Leader" by Voss/American artist Lars Fletre who until his death
has a studio in Chicago. You are invited to perform one number during the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, you will be able to perform the remainder of your program.
After dinner, the evening is free to attend a nearby church or swim in the lake.
July 2: Bergen, Norway
Mon. This morning you will travel to Bergen to visit Edward Greig's home followed
by a guided city tour. You will also enjoy a cable ride. After shopping, we
return to Voss for dinner and a free evening.
July 3: Voss/Mydral/Flam/Sognefjord/Balestrand
Tues. After loading the busses, you will have time in Voss to shop before boarding
the train to Mydral where we switch trains to Flam. From Flam you will board
a ferry for the 2-hour steam on the Sogne Fjord to Balestrand. There is time
to shop or swim before being served a buffet dinner. Dancing is provided in
the Lounge.
July 4: Balestrand/Olden/Leon, Norway
Wed. After eating a buffet breakfast, you will board the coaches for a winding
trip through the glaciers and mountains to Leon and the Hotel Alexandra, Norway's
finest hotel, complete with a recreational facilities - inside and outside.
After a smorgasbord dinner, you will celebrate the 4th of July with dancing
and deserts.
July 5: Leon/Geiranger/Eidsal/Valldal/Dombas, Norway
Thurs. After buffet breakfast, you travel over the mountains, Trollstigia, to
Groli and a view of the fjords at Geiranger, continue to Eidsal and ferry (with
bus) to Valldal. Board your motorcoach once again and drive to Andalsnes and
finally reach your destination for the evening - Dombas. After dinner, dancing
is an option.
July 6: Dombas/Lillihammer/Oslo
Fri. After another smorgasbord breakfast, travel to Lillihammer, site of the
Olympics. You stop for lunch and shopping. Continue to Oslo for a buffet dinner
followed by an evening rehearsal.
July 7: Oslo, Norway
Sat. After buffet breakfast, a city guide will begin your exploration this morning.
A stop at the Kon-Tiki and Fram Museums will highlight the orientation tour.
There will be time left to explore and shop on your own. After touring the Vigeland
Sculpture Park, this afternoon you will present a concert in the Vigeland Museum
court. After a buffet dinner, a trip to the Holmenkollen skip jump is arranged.
July 8: Oslo, Norway/Karlstad, Sweden
Sun. After a buffet breakfast, depart Oslo and travel to Karlstad, Sweden. There
are no more mountain switchbacks, but there are 2-lane roads. After dinner,
optional visit to the movies to see "Terms of Endearment".
July 9: Karlstad/Orebro/Stockholm, Sweden
Mon. After a continental breakfast, depart Karlstad and travel past lakes, forests,
and farms to Orebro, where you will stop for lunch and shopping. Upon arrival
at Stockholm, check into the first-class Anglais Hotel in the center of the
city. After a smorgasbord dinner, the evening is free to visit the Old Town
or go to the amusement park.
July 10: Stockholm, Sweden
Tues. After a buffet breakfast, you will enjoy a guided city tour including
the City Hall and the Royal Palace just in time for the changing of the guard.
The afternoon is free for shopping and sightseeing. After a buffet dinner, the
evening is free to visit the amusement park.
July 11: Drottningholm Slott/Stockholm
Wed. After breakfast, a special visit to the Drottningholm Palace has been arranged
by the Stockholm government. A concert is scheduled in the center of Stockholm
where it will be broadcast live on local radio. The afternoon is free for shopping.
The dinner tonight will serve as a Farewell Banquet because it will be the last
time all stay in the same hotel.
July 12: Stockholm/Roskilde, Denmark
Thurs. After breakfast, board a train for a 6-hour ride to Roskilde. Upon arrival,
check in to the hotels before dinner. Evening is free.
July 13: Copenhagen, Denmark
Fri. Travel to Copenhagen where you will enjoy a guided city tour. You will
visit Amalienborg, the royal residence, and Tivoli Gardens. Return to Roskilde
for dinner. The evening is free.
July 14: Copenhagen/Kronborg/Frederiksborg/Fredensborg/Roskilde
Sat. After breakfast there will be time to shop before the concert in Copenhagen.
Following the concert, you will visit these castles: Kronborg, Frederiksborg,
and Fredenborg. After dinner, the evening is free to pack for the journey home.
July 15: Copenhagen/Paris/NY/Philadelphia
Sun. After breakfast, depart for Copenhagen Airport on air France flight #793
to Paris. where there will be a layover allowing one to shop in the airport.
You will board your Air France flight #019 arriving in JFK, NY. From there you
will take buses to Ridley Park, PA, USA.
